Problem

MultiPlan offers affordable premium healthcare to an estimated 40 million consumers across the nation. They currently have more than half a million healthcare providers under contract, and are constantly growing. With all of this growth, they need to frequently expand the extent of their advertising and the breadth of their network.

Solution

One of the ways in which they wanted to do this was through their website. In 2005, they sought TeraTech’s expert assistance in this area. Our ColdFusion experts were brought in to maintain several aspects of their ColdFusion-based website.

Every year MultiPlan has children from their network, who are in hospitals across the country, design and submit original artwork for a holiday greeting card. TeraTech developed software that allows people to vote online for their favorite designs. The most popular designs are made into cards, sent to participating hospitals as fundraising items for the hospital gift shops, and posted on MultiPlan’s website. Multiplan throws parties for the winning artists to celebrate their achievement, providing a treasured event in the lives of hospitalized children.

The Multiplan Centers of Excellence program is a network of facilities that offer organ and stem cell transplants. TeraTech recently developed an enhanced search engine to make information about these centers easily available on the website. An administrative interface was also created to allow MultiPlan to easily maintain and add centers, keeping their online information accurate and up-to-date.

Results

In addition to these tasks, we also reorganized existing website files in order to save future maintenance costs, and added updated content to their home page. All of our work helped create a more efficient, professional looking website for MultiPlan. Their holiday card contest is a huge success, and their site helps their company look more captivating to prospective clients and providers.
